Madelon Lusk

Artist Statement

"The process that I used to create these pieces was simple. I took the photograph using slide film and enlarged them on Polaroid 669 film. I then transferred the images to paper by separating the actual image from the Polaroid paper using hot water. This creates the wrinkled areas in the photo giving it an almost fabric look. The next step is to scan them into Photoshop. Here I intensified the highs and lows and created the dark tone of the pieces. By using this process I was able to create the eerie look that I wanted."

Artist Bio

"I am a senior at Del Norte High School and I have been active in the art programs since my freshman year. I have taken photography classes for three years now and this year I have ventured into painting and drawing. I am also the set master of our drama department, which means I help design, build and paint the sets for our school productions. Next year I will be attending UNM and I plan on continuing my studies in art, photo and drama."
