Artist's Statement

"I am temperamentally a landscape painter. My work deals with the experience of nature and the nature of painting.

"The emphasis of my work is to build an emotional state of being. Using color, texture, and line, it is my goal to orchestra the whole field of the work. I am fascinated with creating a reality from the physicality of the materials, printer's ink, oil paint. I want the viewer to experience a cumulative excitement of color and shape relationships built rhythmically, leading from one shape to another."
